Kuortane Solar Park on a former peat production area

Wisol ja Solarigo are jointly building a large-scale 34 MWp solar park at Honkisaarenneva in Kuortane.

The construction phase began in January 2025, and work is progressing as planned: foundation work is nearly complete and mechanical and panel installations are advancing rapidly.

Responsibility from design to installation

Wisol serves as a subcontractor in the project, responsible for foundation pull testing, panel area earthworks, and foundation and mechanical installations – including the related materials.

Solarigo was responsible for the main design. Wisol brought a strong construction perspective to the design, particularly regarding layout and ground leveling planning. Smooth collaboration ensured the feasibility and efficiency of the solutions.

Soil properties require precise design

The special characteristics of the construction area make the project exceptional: the peat production area had been in use only for a short time before construction began, resulting in flat but wet and soft surface terrain.

Soil investigations conducted during the project development phase revealed acid sulfate soil in the area, which has been accounted for in Wisol’s foundation solutions. A small portion of the solar park is also being built on agricultural land, which adds to soil variations.

The project highlights the importance of research and soil understanding in a successful solar park project – especially in varying ground conditions.

Solarigon kattava vesienhallintasuunnittelu on mahdollistanut turvetuotantoalueen nopeamman kuivumisen kohti kesää.

Our Clients

Wisol and NYAB have jointly launched a large-scale solar power plant construction project in Utajärvi, Northern Ostrobothnia. The exceptionally large solar park covers approximately 150 hectares, equivalent to about 200 football fields.
We installed solar panels for a 100-kilowatt solar energy system on the roof of an industrial hall in Eura. The main contractor for the project was PlayGreen Finland Oy.
We delivered properly dimensioned mechanics installed at the Kemiönsaari 2-megawatt solar power plant. The varying terrain posed particular challenges for the mechanical installation, but Wisol's screw pile technology achieved an extremely solid result.
